Painting with water / Malen mit Wasser

Painting with Water wesens-art.blogspot.com
A sunny day and no paint for the kids in the house?
Just take a big paint brush and water and let the kids paint on your sidewalk!
It was so exciting for my 3 years old granddaughter to see the spreading of the water on the stones and how quick the hearts and flowers disappear in the sun.
And she learned that the paintings stays longer when she painted in the shadow.
She painted on the wall, the door, her arms and legs, the leaves of the bushes - and me
And then she splattered all with the water. She had so much fun - and no stains on her clothes.

  1. My kids used to do this when they were little, for literally hours!
I thought I was just being a cheapskate but they did used to love it. I never thought about how much they were learning, maybe I was a better mum then I realised.

  5. This was a favourite summer activity for my kiddos when they were little. We also tried ice-chalk, but the water painting seemed to be much more fun.

  7. It's amazing how fun playing with simple things like water is! We used our foam alphabet letters to paint with water outside and the kids loved it. They could have played with it for hours :)
