Yesterday we celebrated the first birthday of my granddaughter Mia!
We have baked a lady bug cake, covered with homemade Marshmallow Fondant and a marzipan lady bug on the top.
And I've baked a cake with wild berry cream filling, covered with marzipan:
For the decoration of the marquee I made a crown-banner made of paper with one photo for every month in Mia´s life.
Mia hatte viel Spaß, auch beim Auspacken ihrer Geschenke!
Mia had a lot of fun, even when unpacking her gifts!
Tip for the rolling out of marzipan:
Marzipan is easy to roll out between 2 layer of slightly thicker foil (sliced freezer bags). Then remove one layer of foil, turn over the marzipan, put it on the cake and remove the second layer of foil. So you can get very thinly rolled marzipan on a cake without problems!
2 Fabulous cakes - and I love the idea of the photo banner too!
